I started Mithilalitya to satiate my desire to work with Indian artists and to preserve and promote our traditional art forms. I come from an academic background and always had a deep interest in Indian art forms. Looking at the garment industry where fast fashion is becoming the norm, I realized the gap could be addressed! I have spent many years in Bihar and Odisha, learning first-hand about textiles, craftsmanship the two states are blessed with, and art forms that are becoming archaic. I plunged into the opportunity and it’s been about five years now, Mithilalitya has become more than just a passion project to me.
